Weeks passed. Then months. Then finally years, but Sebastian and Grell's love for each other never ended. Although Grell had not spoken a word since he had been freed, Sebastian never gave up in his mission to prove his love. He kissed him and hugged him, cuddled him late into the night and talked nonstop to him, despite how unfamiliar it felt to him. They all lived with Ciel; for some reason leaving the mansion made no sense to any of them, and they all stayed together. Ciel married Elisabeth on his eighteenth birthday, and it was at their wedding where Sebastian had prepared a surprise. He had been nervous throughout the ceremony, twitching and wriggling uncertainly throughout the vows. Finally at the reception, after Ciel and Elisabeth had finished opening presents but before they cut the cake, Ciel nodded to Bardroy, who knocked loudly on the front door of the mansion, and the doors burst open and doves flew in, revealing a madly grinning Undertaker dressed all in black, enveloping Ciel in an unwanted but friendly hug and then shaking Sebastian's hand firmly.
"Good luck," He whispered, and Sebastian smiled nervously at him. He turned to look over at Grell, who was standing at the table and smiling at him. He walked over to his love, his Grell, and smiled sweetly at him.
"My dearest," He said, his dark eyes like warm pools lapping at Grell's, "I know this whole affair is dreadfully human and annoyingly stressful, but I could see the looks you were giving Elisabeth and Ciel as they stood on the pew. You dream about marriage, I know it. I can feel it. And now
" Slowly, in front of the whole wedding, Sebastian got down on one knee. Grell's eyes grew wide and he gaped down at Sebastian as he pulled out a little velvet black box.
"I know you can't speak, so just nod if you will agree. Grell Sutcliff, will you marry me?"
The entire mansion became silent. Sebastian stared in worried terror up at his beautiful lover, and finally, after so long waiting and hoping and dreaming of this moment, Grell smiled down at his husband to be.
"Yes." Grell said.
